OLTA stand at Milan Design Week

What does it take to create an exhibition space that captures attention at Milan Design Week — and remains useful long after the event? That was the challenge we took on with OLTA for Milan Design Week 2026. We wanted to create a space that would showcase the brand at one of the design world’s biggest events while offering a flexible solution for future projects. From our first conversations and the choice of modular systems to the final setup in Milan, here’s a look behind the scenes of our collaboration and how we brought OLTA’s vision to life.

Exhibition space reserved. Exhibition concept ready. Now we need to find a way to make it happen.

This was the starting point when OLTA approached us, preparing a stand for Milan Design Week 2026. The team knew how they wanted to display their furniture and what kind of background they needed. They were looking for a specific quote and solutions that would allow them to combine their own vision with reusable exhibition systems.

Because although the immediate goal was Milan, an important assumption was made from the beginning: the stand was to stay with the company for longer.

First step: from vision to a solution

Initial discussions helped us set a direction. One of the first meetings with the OLTA team took place at the RemaDays fair. It was there that we could show live solutions that matched their vision.

It was a good moment in the stand development process. Instead of imagining the structure based on a photo, one could examine it up close and discuss how it would work in their own project.

Fairs are always a great opportunity to talk about proven solutions, but also to see our new products in action. This was the case at RemaDays, where we presented premiere digital products. Trifold caught the attention of the OLTA team and joined the project as a multimedia addition to the stand.

A stand for the future

When choosing the stand, appearance was important, but equally important were specific technical requirements. The project assumed additional fastenings and covering parts of the elements with furniture board. It was necessary to select solutions that would allow these needs to be taken into account.

OLTA also thought about what would happen after Milan. The stand was to be used during subsequent fairs and other events, which is why already at the stage of selecting systems, we took into account the possibility of reusing its elements.

Every element had its task here. Unlit custom-made LMD lightboxes created a background for the exhibition, and the mFrame modular system allowed for additional fastenings and covering parts of the elements with furniture board. It was also used to build a small office – the back-of-house of the stand. The prints gave the stand an appearance consistent with OLTA's vision.

For the next event, the company can use the stand in the same or a modified layout, and changing the graphics will give it a new character. Milan was therefore the first stop, not the end of its possibilities.

Four meters up. Less work on site

During the work, the project gained greater momentum – literally. With it came a challenge: how to prepare a large stand when the time for its assembly at the fair is limited?

The visual effect itself is only part of the puzzle. You also need to plan how individual elements will reach the site and how to efficiently assemble them into a finished stand. At this scale, these decisions matter.

That's why we did some of the work before leaving. We prepared selected elements so that they would require less assembly at the exhibition hall. This allowed the OLTA team to move faster to the next stages of preparing the exhibition.

Because a successful stand begins long before the fair opens – also with the decision of what to do in advance to make work on site easier.

Final rehearsal at adsystem

Before the stand headed to Italy, we set up part of it in our production hall. We checked the prints and conducted assembly training.

After collection, the company transported the stand to the fair and assembled it themselves with their team.

In this project, the preparation of the structure and its assembly at the event were therefore two separate stages. Our side involved production, preparation of elements, verification of prints, and training. On the client's side – assembly and final arrangement in Milan.

In Milan everything fell into place

In the production hall, the height of the structure primarily attracted attention. The scale of the stand was visible, but not yet the entire exhibition concept.

The full effect appeared at the fair.

Furniture, accessories, and refined details gave the space character. The stand became a background that united the arrangement into a whole and allowed attention to be focused on the presented products.

This is an interesting lesson for anyone planning a stand: the structure does not have to play the main role to have a big impact on the result. In OLTA's case, its task was to create an appropriate space for furniture and accessories. Only all these elements together showed the client's intention.

Now it's time for your stand
